I'm not quite sure what point you were making in your post -- if it's a
question or an objection or what. So I'll say a bunch of things and see what
happens.

Here's how println would differ from puts:

      puts prints each argument as a separate line.

      println would print the arguments concatenated, followed by a newline
(regardless of whether the preceding argument ended with a newline):

            def println(*args)
              print(*args)
              puts
            end

Pretty simple. Not a big deal since it can be done a number of other ways,
but I think it's a nicer way to express printing of a line of output.

I think the usefulness of the puts method is limited, but lots of programs,
including some of mine, expect it to behave as it does. My  suggestion is to
have an entirely new method with the different semantics described above.
