A question to non-*nix Rubyers: on Unices files are made executable by setting the executable bit and writing a line at the top of the file: #!/usr/bin/env ruby ...or: #!/usr/bin/sh ...or other interpreters. What do you do to make scripts executable under other OSs? I seem to remember that you must leave .rb in place on Windows. What about Mac and others? I'm asking because rpkg or a preinst script could modify files in the bin/ content dir on the fly, so that they are appear executable on the OS on which the package is being installed. Massimiliano
