I am after some help in how best achieve the automated downloading of
barcodes scanned.

the barcode scanner is a OPN 2001 this site give you more info
http://www.readerware.com/kb/questions.php?questionid=88

I have access to the C/C++ SDK but as I have not done anything like this
would like help.

anyone got or done something like this?
I have read in this newsgroup some messages but they did not seem too
helpful to me.

believe the scanner will be working in a windows XP OS environment but
crossplatform would be even better.

ALso from my very brief look at the SDK I recall an OSX directory how
would those files fit in with ruby on a *nix box?

cheers,
