From: Neil Conway Date: 2002-03-13T11:21:12+09:00 Subject: [ANN] Ruby-Gnome 0.27 is out! Hi everyone, I've released version 0.27 of Ruby-Gnome. Ruby-Gnome is a collection of Ruby language bindings for some of the Gnome application development libraries: GTK+, libgnome/libgnomeui, GdkPixbuf, GdkImlib, and libpanel-applet. Through the use of Ruby-Gnome, you can write your GUIs in Ruby, use the GTK+ toolkit (or the Glade UI builder), and (optionally) take advantage of the Gnome libraries to reduce your development time and integrate with the Gnome desktop environment. Get it here: http://ruby-gnome.sf.net This release includes lots (and lots) of new stuff; check the release notes for more information. In addition to GTK+ improvements and new Gnome widgets, I've also formally released bindings for some smaller Gnome related libs (panel-applet, GdkPixbuf, and GdkImlib) -- they've been in CVS for a while. After I get this release out the door, I'll hopefully be able to get started on porting Ruby-Gnome to the Gnome 2 platform (which also means using GTK+ 2.0). This should also bring substantially improved Windows support. I don't know when I'll get this finished -- if you'd like to help, send me an email. Cheers, Neil -- Neil Conway PGP Key ID: DB3C29FC
