thanks for the quick reply. Here is what I got......

Updating RubyGems
Updating rubygems-update
ERROR:  While executing gem ... (Gem::FilePermissionError)
    You don't have write permissions into the /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8 
directory.

Any ideas?
