In Ruby, it's just a constant lookup, not a method specific to Class:

  Object.const_get("String")
    #  ==> String

For nested classes:

  class A
    class B
    end
  end

  A.const_get(:B)   # note that symbols work as well as strings
    #  ==> A::B
