Something like Dir.glob(['*','*/*','*/*/*','*/*/*/*']) should do
without being too "manual"

Or if you like to change the depth:

def search_to_depth(n)
  array = Array.new(n) {|i| '*' + '/*'*i}
  Dir.glob(array)
end
