They are legal names for methods you define (though DESTROY conventionally would be a constant, not a method.) You may be looking for C++-style destructors, which given the difference in memory management and object lifecycle between Ruby and C++ aren't really present in Ruby. You'd probably get more useful answers asking for what you want to DO rather than looking for a method name.
