Subject: How to compile ruby with static libs only?

Hi

How does one compile ruby with static libs only?
I want all libraries to be statically linked and any 
shared libs I don't want included in the compile.
I tried what I thought was the static option, but when 
trying to run ruby, it was looking for the libs:

  libgdbm.so.2
  libtk.so

I did 
 ./configure --with-static-linked-ext

but that did not do what I wanted.
