I think it's much more readable to build hashes with something like:

h = {}
blah.each do |v|
  h[...] = ...
end

than:

blah.inject({}) do |h, v|
  h[...] = ...
  h
end

Gratuitous use of inject FTL.  Ruby isn't an immutable state functional
language.
