From: Andrew Cowan Date: 2002-02-24T12:21:58+09:00 Subject: Help with using Ri() and VIM I have installed Ri and am finding it very helpful... I found out about it through a blurb in "The Ruby Developer's Guide", which also included the following vim macro to use from within vim: --- function Ri() let b:x = system("ri '" . input("ri: ") . "' > /tmp/ri_output") sp /tmp/ri_output endfunction map :call Ri() --- I did this, but when I hit and then enter the object to explore I get the following error: --- ri: Array Error detected while processing function Ri: Unknown function: system Invalid expression: system("ri '" . input("ri: ") . "' > /tmp/ri_output") "/tmp/ri_output" [New File] --- I am pretty clueless about vim macros, and though this might not be the best place to post this am hoping some of you have this woking and can provide a solution. So, any ideas whats wrong? Thanks!
