"Not OK" by what definition?

Try posting an irb transcript which demonstrates your problem with 
sample data. It looks OK to me:

>> line = "foo #include bar baz"
=> "foo #include bar baz"
>> line[/\s#include\s(\w+)/, 1]
=> "bar"
