From: Jos Backus Date: 2002-02-08T10:34:04+09:00 Subject: FXRuby: how to create a static status line? I'm trying to create a status line at the bottom of the application window that retains its last message. It looks like one needs to use FXStatusline, except that it doesn't work. I can only get something to work if I create a FXStatusbar first and then make FXStatusline its child, like this: # Status bar @statusbar = FXStatusbar.new(self, LAYOUT_SIDE_BOTTOM|LAYOUT_FILL_X) @statusline = FXStatusline.new(@statusbar, nil) This however gives me two equal-sized status areas, one of which shows ``Ready.'' (and the occasional help text when hovering over a button), the other shows my status line. But I'd like to not have the first statusbar. Changing the second line to @statusline = FXStatusline.new(self, nil) yields an interesting but useless result. Is there a way to make the statusbar container itself empty, sort of like a layout manager? -- Jos Backus _/ _/_/_/ Santa Clara, CA _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ josb@cncdsl.com _/_/ _/_/_/ use Std::Disclaimer;
