Subject: C wcwidth equivalent in Ruby 1.9

Hi,

I want to know if there is an equivalent to the C function wcwidth in ruby 1.9.
wcwidth is a function determine columns needed for a wide character.

If not exists, how can I implement the wcwidth method?
