Hmm that information should be transported by the tarball anyway (or the realease notes ) and it might be interesting to see what has changed lately especially for beta users chasing a bug, right? (Ok there are release notes of course but a find with some clever modification time constraints might be very helpful). It somehow seems wrong to me to introduce entropy.
