NNTP with AOL

I am trying to use nntp using Ruby language to access newsgroup.
Is there any AOL user have accessed newsgroup thru nntp?
It seems aol does not have a nntp sever?
any experience with aol welcomed.
if not, is there any other way?
how to use socket without nntp sever?
