From: Michael Davis Date: 2002-01-31T07:55:58+09:00 Subject: Compiling tcltklibl on FreeBSD? I have been trying all day to get ruby to compile tcltklib on FreeBSD 4.2 with no success. Tk and Tcl 8.2 and 8.3 are installed. I have tried with Ruby 1.6.5 and with the latest source from cvs. I have tried using the following configure parameters with no success. ./configure --with-tk-dir=/usr/local/include/tk8.3 --with-tcl-dir=/usr/local/include/tcl8.3 --with-tk-include=/usr/local/include/tk8.3 --with-tcl-include=/usr/local/include/tcl8.3 Ruby compiles okay but it always ignores tcltklib. Running ruby extconf.rb from within the ext/tcltklib directory produces: checking for t_open() in -lnsl... no checking for socket() in -lsocket... no checking for dlopen() in -ldl... no checking for log() in -lm... yes checking for tcl.h... no I have managed to get a yes for checking for tcl.h but that was followed by a no on tk.h. Anyone have any success with Ruby/Tk on FreeBSD? Any pointers that will help me get this working? Any help is greatly appreciated. -- Thanks, Michael Davis Database Architect and Senior Software Engineer, Seva Inc. Email: mdavis@sevainc.com
