Subject: extconf with multiple files

Is it possible to use a single extconf.rb to create multiple .so's?  The
reason I want to do this is because I have a project where I have
multiple .so's being created, but I don't want to divide the project
into multiple directories, because that makes it difficult to test the
code without doing one of:
  a) installing the .so's
  b) copying the .so's to a common location in the test directory
  c) creating symlinks to the .so's (won't work on windows)
  d) requiring the .so's out of the directory in which they reside
  (which has a different structure from the final installation, which
  means I can't test in the same environment as the .so's will be
  installed).

Any ideas?
