Subject: Ncurses: Take the input from certain spot?

I've set up a basic window that goes along the bottom of the term
screen, 3 pixels tall, and I was wondering if it's possible to tell
Ncurses to show what the user is typing inside of this bordered window
(it looks like an input box)? Ex:

Input is showing up here; not good.------------
| input should show here |
--------------------

Side note: Is this forum coded in Rails?
