Take a look at the split method in String:

For example:

irb(main):001:0> a = "jayabharathy@angleritech.com~Vs~kannan@angleritech.com"
=> "jayabharathy@angleritech.com~Vs~kannan@angleritech.com"
irb(main):006:0> a.split(/[@~]/)
=> ["jayabharathy", "angleritech.com", "Vs", "kannan", "angleritech.com"]
