Ok, agreed. I just whipped those up off the top of my head quick. I guess they would belong under the "Compress" namespace. I just lumped them together because generally where you see an archive, you see a compression format. I haven't looked at your module yet. Does it allow you to compress your archive? Would I, for example, be able to create an archive and compress it in one stroke, using the compression method of my choice (assuming I had the requisite Ruby module available)? e.g require 'archive/tar' require 'compress/bzip2' archive = Archive::Tar.new( Dir.entries('.') ).compress('bzip2') The above would create a bzip'ed tar files for all files in the current directory.
