Subject: shoes Can I add color to a button

This sounds like a silly question. I have not seen anywhere how I can 
color a button. 
I have a button 

"@clear = "button "C", :width => 50, :height => 50"

I want to add color to the button so the background is red.

Can anyone show me how to do this.
