First time I've felt entitled to spend money on myself in months. Bought four disk drives cheap from my favorite junk store. I intend to use at least two of them to set up my own server, for which I already have the PC, it just needs disks. I don't know why I feel like doing it. It's a project, I guess. My Ruby program keeps getting better. I have thought that I may rewrite it in Python because Python comes standard with Linux, and Ruby is an add-on. I will look at my Python books and see how hard it would be. I added a timeout to the Ruby code, so now if one node is crashed we won't wait more than 10 seconds. The old pre-Eirikur script would wait the full two minutes for the internet code to timeout, and then move on to the next node (which might also be crashed), sequentially. I'm doing it all in parallel. All nodes could be crashed and the program still only waits 10 seconds. I didn't get up and out to the bank this AM. Should have. I want to fax some money to my trading account. It's snowing. Eirikur
