Without having done anything GUI related that is sizeable, off the cuff, I'm 
going to say this should be very doable. I've toyed with FOX and found it to 
be very nice. Is the client you will be making quite thin? Perhaps the 
FreeRIDE guys want to share their GUI experiences with FOX performace?

Either way it is a definite contender to at use it for a quick prototype, if 
you does perform within your performance limitiations then throw the 
prototype away (now you know it works, and have some domain knowledge as 
well) and engineer a masterpiece of solution that can be shared with this 
list ;)
