Subject: Database Extensions

Hello,

Trying to install Postgresql extenions on a RH7.2 machine.  I tried as
normal user, this didn't work, so I tried as root, this came closer, but
it couldn't find the library it was looking for -- of course the README
said this is for postgres version 6.4 and I have 7.1 -- is this why the
library is missing or is it because I need the developer libraries of 
postgresql -- or most likely -- am I overlooking something.

Advise would be appreciated.  Below is a transcript.
