Subject: How to remove a remote source from gem 'remote sources'

Good afternoon, everyone.

On Ruby 1.8.6 on Mac OS 10.5.4, I'm having some problems with common gem
operations that I never experienced previously.

Currently,  $ gem list -remote fails with:

WARNING:  RubyGems 1.2+ index not found for:
  http://merbivore.com

RubyGems will revert to legacy indexes degrading performance.
Bulk updating Gem source index for: http://gems.rubyforge.org/
ERROR:  While executing gem ... (Gem::RemoteFetcher::FetchError)
    bad response Not Found 404 (http://merbivore.com/Marshal.4.8)


My remote sources are:

- REMOTE SOURCES:
   - http://gems.rubyforge.org
   - http://merbivore.com
   - http://gems.github.com
   - http://gems.github.com

and my initial thought was to temporarily remove the
http://merbivore.come entry.   (Also I have double github entries.)  I
wasn't able to locate it the command to alter gem search path, so any
ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 Is there a gem command to delete or change remote sources?
