I already have the englisch book, but a free german online version would be a good argument for some friends, in case they want to get started with ruby and do not want to buy a book as long as they are not sure if Ruby is rigth for them. sometimes I heard from friends, that they would prefer german documentation, although I think the english version of the pickaxe book is very easy to read. the book is quite expensive, as far as I have seen, it costs 59.95 Euro. I think the book is worth the price, simply because it is one of the greatest programming books I have ever read, but it might be too much for a beginner who is not sure if Ruby will be a language he/she likes. anyway, it is good to have the book translated, this could convince more germans that ruby is the coolest language out there. another german book will also be available in march check out: http://www.dpunkt.de/buecher/3-89864-151-1.html markus http://www.mjais.de
