Subject: Ruby module-of-the-month contest?

This idea came up a few days back on the thread about an obuscated Ruby 
contest.  I thought I'd put it in it's own thread in hopes of stirring up 
some discussion.

I really think that instead of commiting our energies to creating 
obfuscated Ruby that it might be better to commit our energies toward 
creating more useful, well-written, un-obfuscated Ruby modules.  To that 
end, how about a contest where we have a vote on RubyGarden each month for 
the best new module released in the previous month?  Perhaps (and maybe 
I'm dreaming here :) we could get one of the publishers of the various 
Ruby books out there (should be 4 publishers by now or very soon) to kick 
in prizes (books, T-Shirts, $cash$ [OH, now I'm really delusional :]).

So, how about it?  Could each of the Ruby-book authors contact their 
publisher and ask if they would be willing to help with prizes?  The 
advantage for the publisher is that it would bring more publicity to 
their Ruby-related titles and it would only cost them the price of 12 
books/year (at most).  If we could swing something 
like this we might even get a story on /. (Now if we could only get Sharp 
to donate a Zaurus or two to the cause :)
