In practice, an application (such as FreeRIDE in the future) could
assist the coder, providing code scraps for particular situations,
without having to start a web browser, cutting and pasting.

Any application, not just a web  browser, could search for code scraps,
and present them as part of the application, no web based  interface.

You could still search through the website, if you wanted to.
Indeed, RubyCookbook html based website would became a consumer of the
RubyCookbook webservices.

I agree about the RSS interface, but perhaps there's already some XML
dialect already designed to distribute code examples.

In fact, I think code scraps should be part of RAA.succ, so you
could link libraries to code examples.

Say you have Library-X which comes with
* the code itself
* documentation
* code examples

Code examples could actually be code scraps, sort of what you
may find in RubyCookbook now.

My wishlist says I would like to see a more tight integration
between Ruby applications such as RAA.succ, RubyCookbook, FreeRIDE,
RubyGems.

There's a paradigm shift, and we may not be ready to do it right now,
but I believe that's the right way to do it.

Of course, it's just my wishlist, nothing else :-)
