Just add one simbol and you can:

$ irb --simple-prompt
>> n1, n2, n3, n4 = *[1, 2, 3, 4]
=> [1, 2, 3, 4]
>> n1
=> 1
>> n2
=> 2
>> n3
=> 3
>> n4
=> 4

Not sure what you want here.
