Sorry I haven't replied to a lot of very interesting posts in this thread
lately. I changed my host and things have been up in the air lately.

So I'll just say that we're not going agree on a lot if you don't think it's
wrong to do something in the old C style when an easier, more readable, and
less bug-prone way is available.
