Hi Frank,

To insert expressions within back ticks, you need to use #{var}.  Now
normally you would get a "command not found" type of error, but the
variable you've chosen, 'cmd', is the windows (NT) variants shell, so
you've started a new shell and it's waiting for some kind of input.  I
don't think you can get out of a windows shell by pressing
control-c...

try this:

commandString = "xcopy /s /e c:\\A\\*.* c:\\B"
msg = `#{commandString}`
