I have a general suggestion for all announcements:

Please consider including a couple of sentences in _every_ announcement
describing what it is you have produced--i.e. what it does and why/which
people should most likely be interested in it. Please do yourself (and
others :-) a favor by not assuming people (including many newbies)know (or
remember) what a given package (or whatever) does.
