I've been reading the Programming Ruby book. Chap 17 - Extending Ruby discusses how to write a Ruby extension, writing a extconf.rb program and then running the make. However, the makefile is for the gcc compiler. I'm not a user of gcc and I do my C and C++ building using the MS VC++ product. Is there a description anywhere of how to set the project to build the extension using VC++? I've done something similar with Java and JNI. In that case, the documentation makes it very easy to build a DLL that can be called from Java. Something similar would be a great help for Ruby. Thanks for any help, Al
