If you search 'ruby xul' you'll find a couple of projects using RubyOnRails for the backend and xul for the UI. Xul has a ton of widgets, including canvas and SVG, so you can do a lot with it. (It is the engine for Mozilla products like Firefox.)You could use it on any OS that runs Firefox, presumably. It means using Javascript for the UI internals, but you don't have to do browser sniffing and all the workarounds for Internet Explorer, so it is not bad at all. Besides, most of the real processing would happen on the server. Ron
