I'm running ruby 1.6.5 on Debian Woody. I'm running 1.6.5 as well. I don't see the same problem. I created a file containing the single line require 'nqxml/treeparser' and on the command line, typed ruby foo.rb I also tried ruby -e 'require "nqxml/treeparser"' and saw no error, and tried requiring nqxml/treeparser from within irb; no error. What version of NQXML are you using? One way to find out is to type ruby -e 'require "nqxml/info"; puts NQXML::Version' Jim -- Jim Menard, jimm@io.com, http://www.io.com/~jimm/ "If at first you don't succeed, don't go skydiving." -- Unknown
