On the other hand to claim that UnboundMethod is a special kind of (bounded) Method makes even less sense IMO - the current implementation adds the method #bind to UnboundMethod but it also needs to override three methods #call - raises an exception #to_prog - returns a prog which that raises an exception when called #unbind - returns the unbound method itself. Subclassing (Bounded)Method from UnboundedMethod is much less problematic (only bind needs to be overridden with the sematics ``rebind") but as Guy points out UnboundMethod already exists in 1.6 so there is no chance that this will be changed in 1.8. ...... /Christoph
