I haven't done enough ruby programming yet to miss anything.
I'm still trying to absorb what is available to me.

I'm going to try to incorporate it into a little project
in about a week.  I'm not very experienced with threaded
programming, but I think I've found a problem that could
legitimately benefit from threads, so we'll see....
