hmmm.  doing this in irb suggests not:

list = []
GC.start; p ObjectSpace.each_object(Array){}; list << lambda{}
GC.start; p ObjectSpace.each_object(Array){}; list << lambda{}
GC.start; p ObjectSpace.each_object(Array){}; list << lambda{}
GC.start; p ObjectSpace.each_object(Array){}; list << lambda{}

the number of Array's will remain static.  hrrrmmm....
