This is an interesting comparison because I'm not at all a musician but I live in Portland, Oregon, one center of Indy Rock. I'm sure the Berklee students have a good shot at stardom after school, some of our self-taught rockers will famous soon as well. But with the Indy Scene, the star posturing starts much earlier. What interesting about this is that communities do matter. Some nurture ego and some don't nurture it as much. We should each keep in mind what behavior we're nurturing.
