Dear all,

I'd like to announce the initial relase of ruby-gsl 0.1
GSL is a collection of routines for numerical computing.
However I noticed, that in the mean time, another Ruby/GSL project
started. Hopefully, in the near future these two projects will merge.

In the meantime, ruby-gsl 0.1 is available from the RAA.

Things already covered:

some error handling (ch. 3 in the GSL documentation)
basic mathematical functions (ch. 4)
complex numbers (ch. 5)
functions for polynomial evaluation/roots (ch. 6)
most "Special Functions" (ch. 7)
permutations (ch. 9)
random number generation (ch. 16)
quasi-random sequences (ch. 17)
most random number distributions (ch. 18)
most statistical functions (ch. 19)
histograms (ch. 20)
interpolation (ch. 25)
physical constants (ch. 36)
