Subject: [ruby-talk:28453] Ruby on s390

Hi all,

	I just wanted to post this to the list. IBM approved the use of an s390 
for 30 days to work on RubiCTM, and as such, I think I might be the 
first person to compile Ruby on such a platform. I get a virtual 
instance with a dedicated 650 BogoMIP processor (MHz not available, but 
that's usually about 325MHz) and 128MB of RAM running SuSE Linux (prob. 
an older version, as it still runs the 2.2 kernel). This is all 
accomodated by IBM's z/VM architecture, which allows multiple instances 
of virtual OSs running on the same hardware. Anyway, what I wanted to 
say was that Ruby compiled with 0 effort at all, a testament to the 
excellent programming skills of Matz and all others involved in 
developing Ruby!! You guys rock some more!! (that's the third time today ;)
