Thanks to Guy and David,

I understand this now�and think [ruby-talk:19523] shows it the most clearly.

As a newcomer I would say that @@a and @a are too similar syntactically when they behave so differently but this might change as I get to know the language.

Should this be in some kind of FAQ or documentation? (Maybe it already is?)
