Ruby 1.6.5 compiles fine with minor tweakings to the makefile. Ruby 1.7.2 compiles fine, freshly checkouted from the CVS repository. And when you will have an up and running Ruby instal (which shouldn't take yo more than 10 minutes), I suggest that you take a look at that: Hisakuni Fujimoto provides the great RubyCocoa lib which allows you to actually write Cocoa applications in Ruby (which absolutely rocks, if you ask me). Hisakuni-san also provides the supercool RubyAEOSA lib, which allows to use AppleEvents and OSA components directly from Ruby (which absolutely rocks too, if you ask me).
