Do servlets let you do anything that an Apache handler doesn't? If so, there is already a port of the servlet API to Perl (http://libservlet.sf.net), so it would probably be pretty easy to write a Ruby version. > I use servlets + XML/XSLT instead of JSP's. Yeah, JSP is pretty horrid. Personally I really like some of the Perl templating tools, in particular HTML::Mason. I've been thinking off hand of porting that to Ruby and mod_ruby. One of the things that concerns me with mod_ruby is the lack of support for Apache 2. In order to support Apache 2 properly (with threads), mod_perl is basically being rewritten. I know little about Ruby's internals, but this suggests to me that to port mod_ruby to Apache 2 would require a non-trivial amount of work (if it's even possible). Is this accurate? What would be necessary to get mod_ruby running on Apache 2? Cheers, Neil -- Neil Conway PGP Key ID: DB3C29FC
