The problem with boost::python is that it creates VERY bloated extensions. I've had 200k of c++ (including the boost wrapping) turn into 2.5 megs of stripped binary. I ended up re-implimenting with ruby-c (writing ruby in c), because of no end of hassles with boost- you still have a hard time wrapping advanced c++, and the extension ends up being about 70k. I know I'm not using boost::python again :) IMHO the ruby c API is easy enough so something like boost is not needed. Have a look at ruby-fltk as an example of how to hand-wrap c++. Lorien Dunn
