Good luck ... The https is easily solved with OpenSSL. On the other hand my 
experience with banks/financial institutions suggests they are characterised 
by web sites which are MS centric and based on totally broken combinations of 
java, javascript with some non-compliant html thrown in. It might be a good 
idea to take a look at the source of some of the pages you will be accessing 
before you spend too much time on this one.
