I very much agree here. I have a minimum of Perl experience but the
modules I've checked out are generally not very OO or Rubyesque. My take
on this issue is that if you have a need for a module/alg for a certain
area, make a design by thinking of your dream API/classes (what would be
the simplest and smartest way of using this?), check out Perl and Python
modules related to the same area and see if you can get good
ideas/algs/code there and then implement it clean/smart/simple in
Ruby.
