Yes, i have recently stumbled through these waters so i have some
insight.  Both rindas.rb and rindac.rb are TupleSpaceProxy's, neither
serves as a primary DRb server, so you have to run another piece of
code which doesn't appear to be included in the sample directory.  You
can replace the nil on the start_service line with a specific druby
URL so it won't pick an unused port

require 'tuplespace'
require 'thread'

DRb.start_service(nil, TupleSpace.new)
puts DRb.uri
DRb.thread.join
