There is "Rinn", which is compatible with Orbit. Rinn does not support IIOP, though (only UIOP, I think), so you can't use it over TCP/IP at the moment. At the Rinn page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/rinn/) is also Ruby-Orbit, which I think is a Ruby wrapper for Orbit? One idea I had for getting CORBA to work with Ruby was to use ruby-python to talk to the python wrapper for Omniorb. Every time I get an exception, though, the program seems to crash (I think it's trying to throw a C++ exception across C code, though I'm not sure). Omniorb also uses pthreads (which don't work well with Ruby), so I doubt it would work well (if at all) anyway. A final option I considered was trying to get JRuby to work with JacORB. I'm not sure I feel adventurous enough to try today, though. Paul
